Powerful Flexibility With Rollback Rx

PC maintenance is a challenge for businesses today. Most corporations spend millions every month to keep their computers operational and running, constantly fixing computer problems and recovering lost data. They constantly encounter new viruses getting into their systems in spite of seemingly adequate prevention measures. Every time they update with new software patches, they have to be careful and prepared to fix computer issues if it goes wrong. More than anything else, they must be prepared for disaster recovery if there are network intrusions and identity thefts causing computers to crash indefinitely. The IT support is sometimes unable to identify the cause for such repairs. One way to avoid all this is by installing Rollback Rx, system restore software and the complete PC maintenance solution.

Protection Against Disasters

Just as better solutions are on the rise, so are new viruses, spyware and Trojans. Every computer is in danger of being infected. When a corporate network is involved the risk is exponentially high. The Rollback Rx software works as a perfect mate with antivirus software, totally compatible with it, to repair computer problems. Together, the two make a strong defense against virus attacks. But there are times when spyware comes disguised and anti virus programs may not detect them. In such cases, Rollback Rx is particularly useful because it helps to rollback any system to an earlier operational state, totally cleaning the computer of the suspect spyware. What would otherwise have meant several hours of downtime for the system is now reduced to something like three minutes per system. Almost every bit of data is recovered, with the remote possibility of a five per cent loss. And even if some systems are remotely located, Rollback Rx can still trouble shoot over a network.

Boon To Beta Testers

It is always a tricky thing to test new applications. Theres the risk of causing total failure. But with Rollback Rx as a safety net to fall back on, IT administrators can securely test new applications. If the deployment fails, with Rollback Rx, the system can be quickly rolled back to the point before the test was begun. It might have taken hours without Rollback, but with Rollback it only takes seconds to do a pc restore. This makes the risk of new application deployment low, with Rollback Rx.

Maintenance becomes a smooth operation with Rollback Rx. Unwanted software and spyware can be easily removed by doing a pc restore, thus allowing minimum chances of damage to the corporate network. With instant system restore, Rollback Rx software strengthens the capability of every PC.

Internet Marketing With Free Advertising

One overlooked or misused form of advertising is free advertising. However, this can be a very important means of growing your business.

There are innumerable free classified advertising sites on the internet. Obviously, some will be better than others, and the value of any site may be anywhere from good for your business to a total waste of time.

One immediately visible advantage of free advertising is the adjective, "free". Many people starting internet businesses simply do not have the funds to buy advertising.

By the same token, a disadvantage to free advertising is that since it is free, everybody floods it with all kinds of ads, and it is easy for your message to get lost in the flood of advertisements.

Another disadvantage is that unlike people who look through newspaper classifieds or advertising papers such as are found at the local convenience store, few people on the Internet actually visit online classified sites in hopes of finding a car or piece of stereo equipment. Even if they do, they are not likely to see your ad if you are trying to interest someone in an internet income opportunity.

So, how can you turn free advertising to your advantage?

First, as mentioned, some sites will have the potential for improving your business in one way or another, and some will be totally worthless. Since the advertisement itself may or may not be effective, or may or may not be effective at a certain website, testing is necessary. Different ads must be tried, and they must be tried on different sites.

A difficulty in determining the value of a given free advertising site is the fact that with the advent of automatic advertising submitters, many sites are hardly ever visited by humans any more. Only the automatic programs drop by and leave off their ads and move on to the next site. Therefore, one of the first criteria to look for might be whether or not ads must be manually posted. At least in that case, humans will visit and may actually see your ad.

By the way, even a site which can be posted to automatically may be of value in the area of linking and search engine optimization. Most of these links will be fleeting or of little value to a search engine spider, but you may be able to build a little stable of sites which will help search engines find your site. I know of several sites where I regularly post ads exactly for this purpose. Ablewise.com (which requires manual submission) for example is regularly visited by search engine spiders, and if I place an ad there, the page I have linked to will soon show up in search engine listings.

Second, free advertising is most effective if it is not used to sell anything. In fact, it will operate best when you use the free advertising to give something of value away in order to establish a condition of trust between yourself and a prospective customer. In the heyday of mail order advertising, this was often referred to as the "two step" method.

It worked, and still works, like this. The seller offers a free report, such as "How to Make Money from Your Kitchen Table". The ad simply makes the offer, and often would request the reader to send a "free, self-addressed, stamped envelope" for the free report. In this way, the seller was able to get his materials in the hands of several interested parties for only the cost of the report and the ad. The seller was saved the postage by the reader who provided the envelope and postage. Enclosed with the report were materials offering other items, often more reports, which were sold by the seller.

If the seller had provided a report of value on the first mailing, it was possible that the reader would purchase one of the items. If not, the name and address was still on the seller's records (mailing list) and the reader would receive more mailings and/or a collection of such names and addresses would be sold to others who had not built their own lists as yet.

The same thing is done on the internet, and many successful advertisements offer free advertising, software, reports, or services in order to entice the online reader to respond, thus placing his or her contact information at the disposal of the advertiser.

This sort of advertising on the internet has spawned two distinct "advertising" methods which, while free, are not actually advertisements. These two methods are the writing of articles and the creation of lead capture pages.

When someone writes an article of interest or value, they can publish it for free at several sites on the internet. They are usually allowed to include a little information about themselves, including a link to their business website. Generally, to be most effective, the article will be on a subject relevant to the topic of their website and product. Since these articles may eventually be placed on hundreds of websites over long periods of time and are mainly read by those interested in the topic, they are very effective as "advertising". If the author writes well and provides value, the reader may come to respect the writer well enough to accept their advice or guidance and purchase goods or services from them.

With a lead capture page, the reader cannot get the free gift, which is often information, but sometimes a service or product, without giving the advertiser their name and contact information. The advertiser will then use this information to regularly make offers of their products. It is quite common for an internet surfer to leave his or her name and email address in order to receive a course of some kind which is delivered by email to their inbox. The course will be delivered as a series of messages over time, and each will contain the advertiser's sales message. The content of the course will often be relevant to the product being sold. In time, the advertiser assumes the stature of friend and expert in the eyes of the reader, and this will often result in a sale being made.

Free advertising can often be effectively used to lead potential customers to the lead capture pages or even to the articles where they can begin to make the acquaintance of the writer. While the free advertisement seldom is effective in actually spawning a sale, it can be an excellent means of gathering customers.

Washington DC Schools Improves Its After-school Program

The Wallace Foundation Invests $8 Million in Washington DC Schools

Washington DC Schools after schools and out of school programs are getting a boost from the nonprofit DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation and The Wallace Foundation. The DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation is works to increase the quality, quantity and accessibility of services for children, youth and families in the Washington DC area. The DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation is responsible for giving funds to community organizations for out-of-school time programs, youth entrepreneurship programs, and early childhood development programs and parent centers. The DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation has recently received the promise of $8 million from The Wallace Foundation for Washington DC Schools after school programs. The Wallace Foundation is a national foundation that aims to support the ideas and practices that expand learning and enrichment opportunities. The Wallace Foundation currently lists its three goals as: strengthening education leadership to improve student achievement; enhancing out-of-school learning opportunities; and expanding participation in arts and culture.

The Wallace Foundations Learning in Communities

Washington DC Schools were chosen to be apart of The Wallace Foundations Learning in Communities initiative. Learning in Communities strives to develop comprehensive methods for learning in and organizing after school programs that have very high standards. The Learning in Communities initiative has begun in three Washington DC Schools middle schools, Charles Hart Middle School, Kelly Miller Middle School, and Lincoln Middle School. The program currently serves around 600 students but the plan is to expand the program to all middle schools in the Washington DC Schools. The Learning in Communities initiative has help to establish high quality activities outside of the school day; after school, on weekends, and during the summer.

The Learning in Communities, guided by the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation, has created partnerships with Washington DC mayors office, Washington DC Schools, leaders, local universities, private foundations, parents, and the community. This partnership is now aiming to add an additional $8 million to the $8 million that has been donated by The Wallace Foundation. This partnership also aims to institute employee volunteers to act as mentors or tutors starting in the 2006-2007 school year.

The Learning in Communities initiative is starting in middle schools in Washington DC Schools due to national educational research that has indicated that middle school age children are the best group to help from failing later. The research shows that middle school students who have one or more of the following risk factors are less likely to graduate from high school. The four identified risk factors are failing English, failing math, poor behavior, and truancy. Middle school students in the Washington DC Schools often must deal with added obstacles, such as living below the poverty line, having limited English proficiency and high truancy rates. Washington DC Schools now have more than 150 programs that serve at least some middle-school students but the Learning in Communities initiative aims to put an after school program in every middle school in the Washington DC Schools. The Learning in Communities initiative will improve Washington DC Schools after school and summer programs by connecting the programs, producing diverse quality programs that fit childrens needs, developing better standards for training providers, and creating a database that will allow officials to match children with after-school programs.

Want to know the best way to become successful as a Freelance Web, Logo & Template Designer? This article will help you save hours hunting around for the best forums and techniques to succeed!

There is no better way of improving your skills, getting recognised and building up ideas than to compete in the Graphic Design Forums. With so many different contest forums on the web it is difficult to pick out the ones that are best suited to for you. There are literally hundreds of web sites offering freelance services and forums.

A good way to help you decide is to think about what kind of results you wish to get out of joining. Some people join to compete against other designers in the hopes of winning competitions and receiving financial rewards. Others join up to learn from their professional competitors and slowly build up their skills and reputation. The problem with competing for money is that unless you are a well established and talented designer with loads of previous experience you are unlikely to win many if any competitions. How do I know this? Well, I tried to do that exact thing for over a year and it rarely paid off for me.

It is important to understand that top professional designers with years of experience will be regularly showing of their creative skills by submitting their superior designs. They have a system in place for quickly and professionally come up with brilliant designs to meet the clients specifications. However, dont let this put you off as competing against the professionals will help you to improve your own works.

When looking at current submission think of how you could improve upon that design. I am not saying rip off their designs, as this will lead to your account being banned from the forums. Simply acknowledge their work and come up with something equally as original based on the guidelines set by the client and submissions already present.

Here are some useful design forums to look at:

Sitepoint.com
Namepros.com
DesignContests.net

Next weeks article will focus on these forums in more detail. We will also discuss how to successful build up a reputation.

Whats the Objective of Your 1st Sales Appointment?

Have you defined what you want to happen at the conclusion of your 1st appointment? Only then can you actually set up a proficient sales methodology to achieve the defined objective more times than not. And with a pre-defined objective to your 1st appointment you can (1) set a realistic benchmark of success and (2) measure the outcome. It becomes part of your sales performance scorecard.

What is a 1st appointment to proposal ratio? Its simply how many times you gain commitment with your prospect to take the next step, as outlined by your sales process. Depending on your solutions-based product or service and your sales methodology, your Next step may be one of the following:

An on-site demonstration A trial period of your widget A tour of your operations or manufacturing facility A no-obligation survey An evaluation and side-by-side comparison, apples to apples A solution-based evaluation, apples to oranges

Whatever your Gateway is, be sure to attach a business rule and definition to it, and then most importantly measure it. For example, lets look at a telecommunications company that provides voice, data and wireless services to their customer base. The objective of their first appointment is to gain commitment from their Target prospect to perform a diagnostic survey of their current services as it relates to their overall business imperatives and financial success factors for the current year and bring them back a Blueprint of ROI based solutions.

With their 1st appointment objective Gateway defined, they come to a decision to measure that gateway by having the target prospect sign a release form that enables them to contact their current service provider and request a specification report around line, data and feature connectivity.

The advantage of defining and measuring the first Gateway is that it will provide you with a Reality Mirror of how competent you are with the initial phase of your sales process. So if you have set a realistic benchmark company-wide of a 60% 1st Appointment to Proposal ratio and you have individuals below it, you can pro-actively provide them with targeted coaching and support tools to help them achieve the standard benchmark. And that drives more revenue.

If I walk into a sales division and diagnose their 1st appointment to proposal ratio is below 60%, I immediately know up to 5 specifics:

They are not calling on the Highest appropriate level of contact

They are not calling on the right type of company by industry or application

They have not defined a 1st appointment objective (A Gain Commitment Gateway)

They have no message or are poor at communicating the message

They are selling their services instead of selling the diagnostic steps in the Process and backing it up with 3rd party validations

The first two factors are directly related with whom you decide to call on. You probably know who uses your product or service, but you might need some business acumen training to better understand the critical financial success indicators of your prospect parallel to their Front Burner business objectives.

More than often not, a low 1st appointment to proposal ratio is related to a process of not calling on the highest appropriate level of contact. By that I mean understanding the level of responsibility within a company that has the most input into a buying decision. Who has the ownership? Who is at the need to know level? It may be more than one level or title, but it is important to resolve to a top-down selling process.

A top-down selling process will raise your 1st appointment to proposal conversion rates because you are in front of the appropriate person from the start. That person has enough clout to sign on to the next step or to legitimately dismiss the process. If you are dealing with a subordinate level, to the degree of which you are will be the degree your conversion rate will expeditiously decrease.

There was a start-up company in a recently de-regulated industry that had accumulated 300 million dollars in investor money to build a business. Their primary sales distribution channel was a direct sales team. They decided to retain a sales training firm to set up all sales strategies, appropriate processes and training to execute to their revenue goals. Interesting enough, they promoted just the opposite of a top down selling process.

They promoted a strategy and process of initiating contact with business receptionists. That's right, the nice folks who sit in the lobby to answer and direct all the inbound calls. They felt if you promote yourself to these receptionists, flatter then with brand reference gifts, they would eventually lead you to the right person of authority to look at the sales proposition. After all, they know all the names and extensions, and who has what title. I guess you could call it a bottom up selling process.

At the same time, I was heading up a direct sales team competing directly with their services in the same geographical area. We followed the sales strategies and processes I am outlining. Our competitors sales cycle was longer and their average revenue per sale was smaller. Two years later, we had grown 509% and were acquired by a national company. That was the goal. Our competitor filed chapter 11, let everyone go, and liquidated all assets. End of story.

The level of responsibility you decide to call on directly effects your 1st appointment to proposal ratio.

Here are (8) diagnostic tips to improve your 1st Appointment to Proposal ratio.

Employ an ROI-based lead generator system that contains data recognition, classification, and custom extraction specific to your business offering

Internally define what the objective of the 1st appointment is; a demo, a site visit, a survey or a proposal, set a benchmark of success and universally measure it.

Promote your Product/service offering in a way to provide a measurable soft or hard dollar ROI over time.

Call on the Highest appropriate level of contact for your offering; one that that has fiscal authority if a proposal make business sense.

Use a diagnostic approach in your sales appointment to understand what your Prospects business objectives are in the short and long term.

Get some Business Acumen training to become proficient in understanding how fiscal people measure their business and support your business offering with relevant terms such as ROI, IRR and Payback Period.

Dont sell your product or service on the 1st appointment. Promote the diagnostic steps of your process to evaluate the opportunity to increase performance, efficiencies or reduce costs.

Utilize a software proposal generator (non-Boiler-plate) that develops custom proposals specific to your Prospects required deliverables and how your solutions will facilitate them getting there sooner rather than later. Show examples during your 1st appointment process.

Defining a specific objective for your 1st appointment, setting a realistic benchmark of achievement and measuring the outcome will begin to get you on track to an 80%+ 1st appointment to Proposal ratio. Then support the sales objective by developing or outsourcing quality tools tied to technology and best practices to allow more of your sales employees to achieve superior benchmark results.

Buying a New Home, Paying For College and Starting a New Business Has Never Been So Easy!

A Government Grant is an aid program specially designed for helping those who have financial difficulties and cannot achieve, due to lack of finance, certain goals the government is interested to promote.

Government Grants Explained

Though there are many different government grants for a lot of purposes, as noted in the first paragraph, most of them concentrate on three goals: Helping people start their new business, helping people pay their way through school or college and helping people buy their first home.

Grants are provided by government agencies all over the country and at all levels of administration: There are Federal Government Grants, State Government Grants and Local Government Grants.

Each agency has its own requirements and though qualification is not as difficult as it may seem, the truth is that you need to be informed in order to successfully apply for a Government Grant without fear of being declined.

Grants amounts range from hundreds of dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. As the loan amount gets higher, it becomes increasingly difficult to qualify for. So you ought to know the requirements beforehand and apply as early as possible. It is known that most Government Grants are granted on a first arrived, first served basis, so timing is a very important issue not to be bypassed.

The smartest thing to do is, by analyzing grants requirements, to select the Government Grant you are best qualified for and concentrate on applying to it. There are certain grants restricted to citizens of certain states or towns. Others are restricted for those working on certain fields or for those coming from certain economic conditions.

Government Grants Purposes

The main help grants provide is focus on aiding those who want to buy a new house or rent. Real State agents are fully aware of these programs and should be questioned about them when their services are hired. Most applicants qualify for this kind of aid though they usually ignore it, so dont hesitate to ask your realtor about the government grant programs and ask them for help. Your real estate agent is more than capable of helping you fill all the paperwork so you can effectively apply for Government Grant.

Another use of Government Grants is paying for college. College fees have increased over the years and it has become increasingly difficult to afford college education, especially for those whose income has remained untouched. There are mainly federal grants and loans for those starting college and some, but not many, specific estate grants available too.

When it comes to starting a new business, government grants are of a great help for those who are working in a field the government is especially interested to develop. Government grants are mainly destined in this case to acquire machinery, supplies, pay for salaries for a certain period of time, etc. Generally speaking business government grants provide the finance needed for a business to get started and become independent. There are also grants for helping undertake international business transactions.

Do Your Research

Should you decide to apply for a Government Grant, there is a lot of information on the internet. Take your time to do a thorough research, take note of those grants you think you qualify for and contact the agencies to get further information and all the documentation you need to fill. If time is an issue there are some sites that provide access to all this information without having to search all over the net. They usually charge a small fee though, but worth every cent since youll be saving time and money.

Selling More of Your Product Online in 2006

One of the most important things to consider when selling your product is, who are you selling your product to?

There are many opportunities online to sell your product online. You can spend money on advertising using products offered by companies such as Google, you can submit your business to several directories, or you can develop relationships with others with content driven information relating to offering consumers information that is beneficial to their future.

An example of selling products by targeting your market would be to use Google services that can market your product to a selected territory. Perhaps through research you have identified possible locations by city or country that would benefit from your product or service. You have uncovered market information that this could be a possible successful area for sales generation. For more information on Google software and sales for promotion of your business see: http://www.google.ca/services/

Targeting your clients is also important in understanding the future of your business. There are certain reasons why consumers may choose your product over others. What makes your product stand out, is it past success in solving a problem or does it provide something new for innovation. A good way to create such a plan is to design a benefits analysis. For more information on Web Marketing plans online see: http://www.sheridanc.on.ca/~nowell/webplans/

Cross marketing situations can be beneficial for businesses in related industries. One such example could be the financial industry. People need bank accounts, loans, insurance, mortgages and a wide variety of financial services. If you are a provider in this industry and you have an online service or software solutions then perhaps linking with others that target may be beneficial to your business. For more information on the benefits of linking and SEO see: http://www.seoexpert.ws/

A final opportunity area would be direct advertising with sites. You can check into various sites you can put your ad on whether they are major search sites or content driven sites that provide information.

Various examples are the tried and true http://www.msn.com, http://www.yahoo.com and http://www.google.com.

Examples for Directories that are beneficial are: http://www.business.com, http://www.yellow.com and http://www.uscity.net

A final option would be liinking with other content driven providers, you will have to take the time to search and choose who you would like to deal with in search of future business relationships.

In summary, this is a realistic way you can get started in developing your online business for success in 2006. All the best.

The Beauty Of The Binary Pay Plan

There are lots of Multilevel or Network Marketing Plans. Over the years I had often heard of MLM programs with a Binary Pay Plan but at those times I had mistaken impressions of the Binary Pay Plan which unfortunately stopped me from joining those MLM programs. Talk of not profiting from the longer leg of a Binary Plan had unfortunately closed my eyes and ears to The Beauty of the Binary Pay Plan. MLM program pay plans are a bit like girlfriends or boyfriends. You believe that the one you have is the best.

Whatever your preconceptions are of a Binary Pay Plan are, you will want a Binary Pay Plan MLM program after reading this article.

I'm going to show you how to take extreme advantage of a Binary Pay Plan so get ready for extreme enlightenment. Like all my articles this will also contain hands on nitty gritty things to do that actually work and will change and excite you for the better.

In most MLM programs your upline members are very helpful but usually don't go as far as to place members under you to improve your profit line. They may step in initially to get you on your feet and off to a good start for both you and them, but that's basically where it stops.

It is often said in MLM that "You make money on your downline and not on your upline so look after your downline". In most MLM pay plans this is true, but not in a Binary Pay Plan because your upline has no choice but to at the least place half of his new members under you if not all of them!

In a Matrix plan you can also get members from your upline, which is often called "Spill Over". In a Matrix your upline member may have five people on his first level which means that you may only get one fifth (1/5) of any spill if you happen to be on his first level, less if you are on his second and so-forth.

A Binary Pay Plan has only two legs, thus the Bi in Binary, meaning two. Every new member is placed one under the other. In a Binary Pay Plan you will find yourself in one of your uplines two legs. Depending on the person. the two legs are often called the "Right and left leg" or "Longer and shorter leg" or "Stronger and weaker leg".

The "Longer" or "Stronger" leg will be the leg you joined into and It will always be longer and stronger because of all the people above you who are constantly putting new members under you. You are getting free paying members put under you! This is unheard of or vary rarely seen in most other MLM pay plans.

The shorter or weaker leg is the new leg you start. You build this leg to cash in on the free longer stronger leg you originally joined. Apart from any required placements, rarely would you have to place members into your stronger leg, so everyone you recruit is placed into your new leg, your shorter leg. Your job is to build just one leg placing every new member One Under The Other benefiting all members in that leg. Depending on which MLM Binary Program you join will dictate how many members you need to place in each of the two legs to receive group commission payments.

For example; the MLM program I am in says that I must sponsor one member into my left leg and one member into my right leg to qualify for group commissions. So my mission is to personally sponsor two (2) members, one into my original leg and one into my new leg. Royalty or group commissions are paid on "groups of members".

Here is my group commission example: For every three members in my short leg I get paid on six members in my long leg. So if I have 300 members in my short leg then I will be paid on 600 members in my long leg. In most other programs I would only be paid on the 300 members I and my members brought in, if that !

The beauty of the binary program lies heavily in the fact that;

1. You only need to sponsor two people to qualify for group commissions.

2. You are paid on twice as many people as the group you build.

3. You only have to build one leg.

4. Every member you sponsor is placed under all the other members in the leg you are building.

5. All members benefit from all new members sponsored by all upline members in that leg.

6. The above points are easy to explain and powerful points to recruit new and experienced MLM members.

Apart from group commissions and depending on the program you join, you can receive a great bonus on each and every person you personally sponsor.

With current internet automation you can have every person you sponsor automatically placed in either your longer or shorter leg or have placement automatically alternated evenly between the two legs. As your new leg grows it will pick up incredible speed like a small snow ball rolling down a snow covered mountain.

In a Binary Pay Plan I can tell my prospects that when they join I will be placing all future members I sponsor under them, members that they will profit on. Can you say this with any other MLM and do it?

10 Things You Should Do Before You Start Your Medical Billing Business

One time, I saw a newspaper ad saying they are hiring work-at-home medical billers. I called the number (just to find out what it is!), I found out that for you to be able to work as a Medical Biller, you have to purchase their software at a range of $800-1,500 (I thought, it is actually a packaged-medical billing business). They will then train you how to use their software, after (I think) 10 days of training, you will have an access to their so-called doctors database. They promised you can get your 1st client through their database.

Due to my curiosity, I started reading and researching packaged homebased medical billing business. But take note: the training you will get is NOT actually a medical billing training. The bottom line here? you simply purchase the business, pay for their software and start your business! But how realistic is this? I know some people who ended up with no clients at all after purchasing the software! And then later on, Ive read that the Federal Trade Commission warned us about these companies offering homebased medical billing business with their false claims on how you make a lot of money on this business.

Medical Billing is a legitimate business (either home-based or office-based) and you can make good money as long as you know how to do it, the right way. But before that, consider the 10 Things You Need To Do:

1. Try to gain actual work experience. Work as a Medical Biller in a doctors office (or even as a volunteer at your nearest hospital). Do this for at least a year.

2. You should be highly knowledgeable on HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and how does your current work/practice place complies/follows its rules and regulations. I always emphasize this because it is very important in any health provider businesses

3. Learn the actual know-how on claims submission (paper billing & electronic billing)

4. Learn how you can deal with insurances, can you handle collections? denied/rejected claims? Learn how to file appeals for denied claims

5. Learn how to analyze and optimize proper coding (procedure and diagnosis codes) to avoid rejection & denials

6. Learn how to review and analyze the reasons for unbilled and or aged medical claims

7. Beside learning the medical terminologies, you should also know many medical billing terms and its meaning: (PCP, copay, co-insurance, deductibles, allowed amounts, predetermination, medical necessity, progress notes, prognosis, treatment plan, preauthorization, appeals, referrals, scripts, benefits and eligibility, capitations, HMOs, PPOs, POS, EPO, HIPAA)

8. Learn how to properly post: payments, deductibles, co-insurance, adjustments and write-offs (it is different when you are actually at work doing the postings than what you learned during your training)

9. Feel the medical billing scenario (how is the cash flow? what about the turn-around time of payments?)

10. And the last but not the least, feel the work--- do you like what you do? Do you have the ability and the managerial skill to run your business?

Find Yourself With Your Cell Phone

A few years ago, the FCC mandated that cell phones have GPS capacity or some form of location mechanism so that the phone and its operator could be located in the case of a 911 call. The law took effect at the beginning of 2005. Today, over one hundred million cell phones in this country have a chip that provides GPS capacity and increasingly, software services are emerging that put them to use.

GPS stands for Global Positioning Software and it simply means that an equipped device can be located by the satellites overhead in geosynchronous orbit that are built to pick up GPS signals. While the cell phone companies initially were reluctant to participate, they have begun to develop subscription services that provide software to help you use the tracking system.

The GPS technology without bells and whistles simply pinpoints the location of your cell phone. A techie named Chuck Fletcher developed a freeware program called Mologogo that allows one Mologogo equipped phone to locate other, similarly equipped phones. It's become a method for a few thousand cell owners to keep track of each other, but hasn't moved much beyond that.

Verizon and Sprint have developed subscription services that will allow your phone to pinpoint your location, complete with overhead map. It's a mobile driving assistance tool that should enjoy some degree of popularity. The cell phone companies have been reticent to provide general access to the GPS feature in their phones, because it can be a sensitive privacy issue - especially if you're somewhere you're not supposed to be.

More to the point, however, is the fact that the cell operators see the GPS technology as a potential profit center. One way to get driving directions with a GPS cell phone is to subscribe to a GPS navigation service. Nextel offers two: Televigation's TeleNav and Motorola's ViaMoto. Using the GPS and Nextel's network, TeleNav and ViaMoto can send driving directions to a Nextel phone. If you make a wrong turn or miss a street, the service detects that you're off the route and new route is calculated to put you back on track.

Aside from the basic mapping and location support, if you're a Sprint-Nextel customer you can subscribe to a service called Smarter Agent. This GPS supported technology is tied to a real estate database and can provide you with information on home sales in the neighborhood where you and your cell phone happen to be located. It will identify which homes have sold in the neighborhood in the last few years, and for what price.

Verizon has a service called getGOING. You can download applications such as AtlasBook Places. With AtlasBook Places you can get maps and directions and navigate to nearby places. An option is a web-based planning tool. These functions are available on selected Verizon phones.

There's an inherent privacy issue here that is a challenge for the major cell providers. Sprint-Nextel is the only company that has always allowed access to the GPS chips in its handsets. They have a strict privacy agreement with any third party service providers such as Smart Agent. If you download software that is not provided through Nextel, however, you have no such guarantee of privacy. This issue, aside from dollar signs, is what has kept GPS functionality largely an in-house development of the cell phone companies.

San Antonio Schools Receives Grants to Prepare Students and Build New Facilities

Grants Help Students Prepare for Postsecondary Education

Three San Antonio Schools high schools have received grants from the state of Texas to aid students in achieving their goals of attending college or university. The Texas High School Completion and Success Grants, totaling $200,000, were awarded to Edison Technical High School, Fox Technical High School and Navarro Academy. Each of these San Antonio Schools will use the funds in a way that will address the particular needs of its students.

Edison Technical High School plans to use the $80,000 grant to create and run the Saturday College Readiness Academy. This is an exciting and innovative program that will be jointly taught by Edison teachers and university professors. This will allow the students to get a feel for what is expected at the university level. The main goal of the Saturday College Readiness Academy is to raise the students ACT and SAT scores in order to better their chances at succeeding in the college admissions process.

San Antonio Schools Fox Technical High School is using a portion of its $80,000 grant to implement SAT and ACT workshops that will help the students become ready to take the test. Fox Technical High School also plans to use the funds to help pay for students exam fees. A teacher training for the college-preparatory Advancement Via Individual Determination program will be paid for with the remaining funds.

Navarro Academy, which received $30,000 in grant funds, is one of several San Antonio Schools that will establish an Advancement Via Individual Determination training sessions for its teachers. Navarro Academy plans to use the bulk of its grant to institute a transportation fund for before and after school tutoring and mentoring.

Even though each schools is allocating their funds to different services, they like all San Antonio Schools must improve their students scores on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. This program has set several important goals for all schools in Texas to increase the number of: 9th-graders graduating from high school in four years, students who graduate college-ready, as demonstrated through enrollment in a college-preparatory curriculum including Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and dual-credit courses, and students who take college-entrance exams.

San Antonio Schools Uses Funds to Build Three New Schools

Starting the 2006-2007 school year, students at Margil Elementary School, Crockett Elementary School and Douglas Academy will enjoy new facilities. Margil and Crockett Elementary Schools have moved to two brand new buildings while Douglass Academy has undergone a complete renovation of its existing facilities.

Margil Elementary, a San Antonio Schools elementary that was originally built in the early 1970s, has two newly designed features. The schools striking towers emulate the architecture of Avenida Guadalupe located nearby. The other feature unique to the school is its cafetorium, which is created by a retractable wall that when raised combines the gym and cafeteria.

Crockett Elementary School has moved into a new 104,945 sq. foot building centered on a beautiful courtyard. The newest features for the school will be an improved library, science laboratories, and larger classroom size. The schools air-conditioning system has also been updated and parts of the school that had previously not been air-conditioned now will be.

San Antonio Schools Douglass Academy, a Texas Governors Education Excellence Award winner, has received a needed renovation. The schools refurbishing has focused on the including the African-American and Mexican-American cultures of the neighborhood in its decorations and design. The added facilities include a new gym, computer lab, wireless connections, an intercom system and classrooms built specifically for the Early Childhood Program and Life Strides for special needs students.

3 Reasons To Take Up Golf

Golf is a game played by over 4 million people in the UK. Its popularity is ever increasing and for good reason. That many people cant be wrong. If youre toying with the idea of taking up golf and maybe investing a in a few lessons, perhaps the arguments below will convince you of the games worth.

Excersise

Many of us lead very sedentary lives, usually as a result of having a hectic 9-5 office job. We might have family to take care of the rest of the time and before we know it, the week has slipped by and we still havent been able to do any exercise. Contrary to what some people might believe, golf is a sport which is great for increasing your level of physical fitness. You might not be sweating profusely by the end of it, but you will have walked an awful lot around the course and as we know, walking is one of the best forms of exercise you can do.

Fresh air

Whats so good about golf is that it can be played in any weather; on a sunny day, there is surely nothing so glorious as to be out on a green playing a few rounds of golf, and similarly, in blustery weather a round of golf can be very invigorating. Instead of exercising in a sweaty, stuffy, overcrowded gym, get outside and breathe in some fresh air; youll feel fitter already.

Fun

With the busy lives we all lead nowadays, its good to have a hobby to provide some escapism - even better if this hobby involves exercise, which golf does. Golf is a fantastic opportunity to get together with some friends and play a few rounds. Belonging to a club also adds to that feeling of camaraderie, especially when youre digesting your game over a pint in the clubhouse afterwards.

Now that youre raring to go, you might want to look into a golf holiday.

IDN - International Domain Names

What is an IDN?

IDN stands for Internationalized Domain Name, also known as multilingual domain names. It allows you the possibility to use more characters in domains names, besides letters and numbers. It uses characters available in other alphabets, like accents.

Example of IDN domains:

Chinese IDN 毒瘤.com which means cancer
If you go to 毒瘤.com you will see the domain is targeted towards cancer but in English.

Romanian IDN divorţ.com you will see the domain is targeted towards divorce but in English.

Polish IDN pieniądz.com you will see the domain is targeted towards money/currency but in English.

Greek IDN βίβλοσ.com you will see the domain is targeted bible/books but in English.

.cn with Chinese results: 例子.cn you will see the domain is samples but in Chinese.

Al these are targeted through http://parkingsite.com and take 5 days to target once a keyword is given.

What browsers support IDN names today?

Only the latest version of Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2 support IDN Names directly entered into the browser.

IE6 and earlier versions will not support IDNs.

What TLDs or ccTLDs support IDN?

First of all what I am saying with that question is what extensions can be registered like and IDN. Can I register毒瘤.com? 毒瘤.net? 毒瘤.org? 毒瘤.cn? 毒瘤.jp? and what others can I register.

Here is a list of the ones that I have registered:

.com
.net
.tv
.cc
.jp = Japan
.cn = China
.de = Germany
.gr = Greece
.tw = Taiwan

Do all Registrars support IDN registrations?

No, as of writing this Enom does and so does Domainsite. There are others that do but mot d not. Please check with your registrar BEFORE you register any or you will get stuck with a long name that has no value whosoever.

What IDNs should you register?

You should use the same principles that you have learnt while registering English domain names. Go after the higher paying ppc terms first. Make sure if there are more than one way to say a word in any language that you get them all as you never know which ones will have the most traffic. I have registered quite a few dual meaning words and its never the one I think that has the most traffic.

女孩儿 ; 姑娘 ; 女孩子 all mean girl with slight variations in Chinese. In this case and such a major term, unless you speak the language, grab them all.

Google results for all of them:
女孩儿 - 1,870,000 results in Google
姑娘 - 4,460,000 results in Google
女孩子 - 2,840,000 results in Google

Most IDNs with Google over 1 million will have some traffic unless you get ridiculous generic terms like the which have no value whatsoever.

Also, as with English domains, dig a bit deeper. If loans is taken in the language you want go for things like home loans, car loans, boat loans and so on.

How to find and register IDNs?

There are many ways to find and register IDN domain names. The best way is obviously if you speak the language but even then you must be careful. Just like in English some common words will not actually be used and a short form may be used. In English most people know the word automobile but rarely would use it. Most would use the word car.

This can be illustrated by the two overture scores:

1572 http://automobile.com

18016 http://car.com

Now this does not mean automobile is not a good IDN to register, it just means go after the one that is more likely to be typed in a browser.

Now if you dont know anyone that speaks a language you are going after, your only choice is to use a good translator software, I suggest you use logos.it

When you enter a word it gives you results in multiple languages at one time and makes it really easy to get a keyword in multiple languages.

For example when you search for the word insurance you get:

English
insurance

Italian
assicurazione

Spanish
seguro ; aseguracin

French
assurance

German
Versicherung

Russian
cтрахование

Arabic
تأمين ; ضمان ; كفالة

Albanian
sigurim

Asturian
seguru

Basque
aseguru

Bolognese
asicurazin

Brazilian Portuguese
seguro

Breton
asuras

Catalan
assegurana

Danish
forsikring

Dutch
verzekering

Esperanto
certigo

Finnish
vakuutus

Flemish
verzekering

Furlan
sigurance

Galician

Gujarati
વીમો

Hebrew
ביטוח

Hindi
बीमा

Hungarian
biztosts

Indonesian
asuransi

Irish
rachas

Japanese
保険

Marathi
विमा

Norwegian
forsikring

Piemontese
assicurassion

Polish
ubezpieczenie

Portuguese
seguro

Punjabi
ਬੀਮਾ
Romagnolo
assicuraziun

Romanian
asigurare

Sanskrit
क्षेमकरणं

Serbian
осигурање

Slovak
poistenie

Swedish
frskring

Turkish
sigorta ; sigortalama

Ukrainian
страхування

Valencian
segur

Venetian
assicurassion

Welsh
yswiriant

I have found that just like domains, the one I think will get the most traffic, surprisingly wont, but the languages I have never heard of get some traffic.

Now lets see how you go about registering IDN names:

Lets go to logos.it and look up the Russian word for weasel as an example which is ласка, so now I go download the IDN Domain Conversion Tool then open it up and paste ласка into the space unde the heading IDN Domains and hit the ok button. You will get a code called a PUNY code which is: xn--80aa3ac5a , then take that and add a .com on it and you will end up with this http://xn--80aa3ac5a.com. Now check a whois or try to register http://xn--80aa3ac5a.com and see if you get it. To keep it organized and try to keep my domains in one place I register most of my IDNs at Enom. There are other choices if you like. You can take the actual ID code and go to and type in the IDN and it will tell you if its available without doing the PUNY conversion but you should know how to do it anyways.

When I check now ласка.com is available.
In case you are wondering you cannot register ласка.ru yet as the Russian ccTLD does not support public IDN registrations yet.

If I find an IDN like ਬਿੰਗੋ (xn--f9b5b1c6b7k) should I register .com or .cn or both?

This really depends on how strong the term is, if its a great term and you have the $, by all mans register them both. If you dont my suggestion is get the .com. You will need to do some research here as every country operates differently. Some countries are big on their ccTLDs while others go for the .com first and only if thats taken will grab their ccTLD after that.

Personally, I have been registering the .coms and if its a great term I get the ccTLD for that country if its available.

To learn more about IDN Names visit the Domain Name Forum where all the domain experts hang out and chat.

Are all the good IDN names taken?

Absolutely not, take your time and do some mining and you will find gold in them mountains.

Remember dont expect miracles from IDN domains now, the miracles will come once most of the world has a browser that can support it.

Should you expect to make $ from your IDNs now?

No, if you are lucky you will have a few that make something., I have registered thousands of these and at least half have traffic so thats good enough for me to know the future will be great for these. Be patient they will be worth it in the long run.

Is there anything else I should know about IDNs?

Yes, there is lots more, please take the time to learn about Domain Names and feel free to ask and post your questions as thre are many IDN experts there and they will usually answer you within a few minutes.

I hope this helps some of you get started in what should be an interesting area of domains

Microsoft Dynamics GP Business Portal 10.0 opening the door

It was not a big secret, that former versions of Business Portal for Great Plains, such as 3.0 and 2.5 had limitations in allowing you, software developer to modify existing business portal applications, such as HR & Employee Self Service, Order Management, Requisition Management. With version 10.0 BP enables you to use Web Services for Microsoft Dynamics GP backoffice integration. In the past, not sure if somebody used this techniques you could create ASPX .Net application in Visual Studio 2005 (C# OR vb.NET), where you interact with GP database and object via eConnect and then integrate this .Net application into MS Dynamics GP Business Portal. This approach would have certain known restrictions, however to some extent it should be considered as doing its job.

Business Portal highlights. For those, who are new to BP implementation:

* Requisition Management. This module is successor of former eRequisition. Requisition Management is now BP module and you have to purchase Business Portal user licenses to get sufficient number of RM users (about $40 per user)

* HR & Employee self service. If you have concerns of cost of mailing payroll checks direct deposit info to your employees BP does the job by secured web lookup via Employee Self Service module

* Notifications. Email notifications were lagging competition in BP 3.0, we need to further research 10.0. Competitors, Ariett for instance were offering notification in HTML format with hyperlink to the Requisition Approval (in the case of ReqNet module) for decision maker, allowing her/him to bypass the necessity to login into ReqNet through Active Directory security realm

How Tai Chi Helps Older Adults Avoid The Painful Skin Condition Shingles

Tai Chi for seniors is a martial art that originated in China, and is normally practiced with the goal of living a long and healthy life. Because Tai chi is becoming more popular, more and more senior citizens are getting involved Tai Chi for seniors and finding that they are living longer and healthier lives.

Prior to Tai Chi being introduced into western countries, the health benefit was explained through traditional Chinese medicine, which is not supported by modern medicine. Tradition Chinese medicine focuses more on the body and healing mechanisms that come from within, rather than from a pharmaceutical lab or doctors office. Many scientific studies have been performed on the art of Tai Chi, and the results were very favorable.

Some studies have shown that by practicing tai chi for seniors over a long period of time can promote control of balance, flexibility, and can even increase the condition of the heart and cardiovascular system. Tai chi for seniors is also great because it has shown to reduce pain that could be a result of a fall in an elderly patient. Tai Chi can also help elderly patients who may be experiencing arthritis, MS, Parkinsons, and even Alzheimers. The symptoms of ADHD can be reduced in adolescents practicing Tai Chi, and one can even burn as many calories as a skier when practicing the low-impact movements of this martial art. Tai Chi provides many benefits for people of all ages, but tai chi for seniors shows the most benefits. For those who have ever suffered a heart attack, high blood pressure, or heart surgery, Tai Chi for seniors will be simple to practice and leave you feeling healthier and happier.

One scientific study showed a significant link between Tai Chi and a vaccine. A group of healthy adults were giving VARIVAX, which is the Varicella vaccine, and only half of them participated in Tai Chi. The Varicella zoster virus causes an infection and rash referred to as the chicken pox, and if the virus were to be reactivated it is referred to as shingles. The study showed that 16 weeks later, those who participated in Tai Chi on a regular basis had a higher level of immunity to the zoster than those who did not perform the martial art. Performing Tai Chi does not directly prevent anyone from getting shingles, but it does increase the effectiveness of the vaccine.

Because old age brings along poor health, it is important for the elderly to participate in an activity to stimulate their mind as well as their body. Tai Chi for seniors is a perfect activity, since it is easy to keep up with and has been added health benefits. A Corporate Web Site At An Affordable Price

To have a web site which is flexible, professional in design, can have additional functionality added in wherever is needed, is compliant in web development standards and can be controlled by the owner is no longer a corporate reality but is an affordable reality.

By using open source software the cost of such an affordable website has dramatically reduced. Open source software is free, built by an ethically sound and forward thinking community determined to better the functionality of the Internet. Whilst it is free, one should always try help those helping you by donating to open source software so that everybody benefits.

Just because the software is free, this does not mean that the website is free, the web site designer must still have knowledge of the website system and will be able to add a design and functionality tailored to your requirements. Building a website to deliver what you need is never an easy task.

The benefits of using open source software included affordable design changes without disturbing the content. Regular upgrades to improve the speed and security of the web site, additional modules allow a plug in mechanism for additional functionality to improve the use of the website, web site portability, reduced bespoke programming costs and probably most importantly, a support network which can aide in system issues and troubleshooting.

Easy Design Changes

Most open source software systems provide compliant website standards, this invariably means that the content is separated from the presentation giving two main benefits. The first of these is that the web site can provide slick content to be provided to the search engines and secondly since the design is independent of the content then the design of the whole site can be changed more affordably.

Regular upgrades

These open source software systems just grow from strength to strength, the development team expands, new ideas come into play and the software evolves version after version.

Support forums

Support forums of all levels up for the more popular open source solutions and communities develop within them. Whether you want to know how to do something in an administration panel, need help on best practices or require technical information on coding, more often than not, there is an answer for you on one of the many forums by people willing to share information and help you.

Additional functionality

The core functionality of many of the open source software systems is probably more than most people require. But a huge benefit Is the ability to add additional functionality. If there's something your website needs to do, very likely the more popular open source software has a configurable module or component of some sort with the ability to do it. If it does not then a bespoke coder will be able to do it at an affordable cost, as it is just one part of the site integrating into the central system not a rewrite of everything.

Web site Portability

Being able to move a website between one website company and another without loss of support or "the getting to know the code" time is an excellent facility to have. Because the open source software is known to many of the web design companies, taking a new web site on board would be no problem.

For now and for the future why have the bespoke built web site at a large cost and even larger support costs, as opposed to an affordable flexible system which gives you the power to use the best minds of the Internet at an affordable price, with corporate functionality.

How To Determine The Origin Of Spam?

Spam will continue spreading as far as it makes profit. If nobody buys from spammers or acts upon their scams, spam will end. This is the obvious and easiest way to fight spam. You can ignore and delete spam emails you receive. But you can also take vengeance on the spammer by complaining to the spammer's Internet Service Provider (ISP). The ISP will block their connection and maybe impose a fine (depending on the ISP's acceptable usage policy). Spammers beware of such complaints and try to disguise their messages. That's why finding the right ISP is not always easy.

Lets look inside a spam message. Every email message includes two parts, the body and the header. The body is the actual message text and attachments. The header is a kind of the envelope of the message. The header shows the address of the message sender, the address of the message recipient, the message subject and other information. Email programs usually display these header fields:

From: shows the sender's name and email address.
To: shows the recipient's name and email address.
Date: shows the date when the message was sent.
Subject: shows the message subject.

The From: field usually contains the sender's email address. This lets you know who sent the message and allows you easily reply. Spammers, of course, dont want you to reply and dont want you to know who they are. Therefore, they put forged email addresses into the From: lines of their emails. So the From: field wont help you if you want to determine where the spam email comes from.

Tip! With G-Lock SpamCombat you can easily preview not only the message text but also all the fields of the message header . You can choose the preview format by yourself. You can view the message as HTML, decoded message, or message source. There are also several Received: fields in the header of every message. Email programs dont usually display the Received: lines but the Received: lines can be very helpful in tracing the spam origin.

Just like a postal letter goes through a number of post offices before its delivered to the recipient, an email message is processed by several mail servers. Each mail server adds a line to the message header a Received: line which contains

- the server name and IP address of the machine the server received the message from and
- the name of the mail server itself.

Each Received: line is inserted at the top of the message header. If we want to reproduce the messages path from sender to recipient, we start from the topmost Received: line and walk down until the last one, which is where the email originated.

Just like the From: field the Received: lines may contain forged information to fool those who would want to trace the spammer. Because every mail server inserts the Received: line at the top of the header, we start the analysis from the top.

The Received: lines forged by spammers usually look like normal Received: fields. We can hardly tell whether the Received: line is forged or not at first sight. We should analyze all the Received: lines chain to find out a forged Received: field.

As we mentioned above, every mail server registers not only its name but also the IP address of the machine it got the message from. We simply need to look what name a server puts and what the next server in the chain says. If the servers dont match, the earlier Received: line is forged.

The origin of the email is what the server immediately after the forged Received: line says about where it received the message from.

Let's see how determining of the spam email origin works in real life. Here is the header of a spam message weve recently received:

**************************************************
Return-Path:
Delivered-To: press@mydomain.com
Received: from unknown (HELO 60.17.139.96) (221.200.13.158) by mail1.myserver.xx with
SMTP; 7 Nov 2006 10:54:16 -0000
Received: from 164.145.240.209 by 60.17.139.96; Tue, 07 Nov 2006 05:53:35 -0500
Date: Tue, 07 Nov 2006 12:48:35 +0200
From: Pharmacy

Reply-To: umceqhzjmndfy
X-Priority: 3 (Normal)
Message-ID:
To: press@mydomain.com
Subject: Cheap Med*s V!agra Many Med_s QnNXpRy9
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
**************************************************

At first, look at the forged From: field. The email address in the From: and Reply-To: lines doesnt exist. So, the spammer took care about directing bounced messages and all the indignant replies people may send to a non-existing email account.

Secondly, the Subject: line. It contains the variations of the Meds and Viagra words that are known to be met in spam messages. Plus, the subject contains a range of random characters. Its obvious that the subject line is skillfully tailored to fool anti-spam filters.

Lastly, lets analyze the Received: lines. We start from the oldest one - Received: from 164.145.240.209 by 60.17.139.96; Tue, 07 Nov 2006 05:53:35 -0500. There are two IP addresses in it: 60.17.139.96 says it received the message from 164.145.240.209.

We check if the next (and last in this case) mail server in the chain confirms the state of the first Received: line. In the second Received: field we have: Received: from unknown (HELO 60.17.139.96) (221.200.13.158) by mail1.myserver.xx with SMTP; 7 Nov 2006 10:54:16 -0000.

mail1.myserver.xx is our server and we can trust it. It received the message from an "unknown" host, which says it has the IP address 60.17.139.96. Yes, this confirms what the previous Received: line says.

Now lets find out where our mail server got the message from. For this purpose, we look at the IP address in brackets before the server name mail1.myserver.xx. It is 221.200.13.15. This is the IP address the connection was established from, and it is not 60.17.139.96. The spam message originates from 221.200.13.15. Its important to note that its not necessarily that the spammer is sitting at the computer 221.200.13.15 and sending spam over the world. It may happen the computers owner doesnt even suspect of being sending spam. The computer may be hijacked by a Trojan, which is spreading spam without the machines owner knowing it.

We hope this information will help you identify the spammer's ISP and report them about spam so they can take proper measures.

Open Source Technology, a Must For Your Small Business And Links To Get You Started

Are you looking for innovative ways to increase your ROI, your bottom line and downright save a ton of money on your IT costs? Let me answer that for you! Of course you are, you would not be a savvy business owner if you did not seek out ways to stretch your money. Drum roll please, introducing Open Source technology a new way for small businesses to even the playing field with their enterprise and big boy competitors.

Why is this important? You now have access to the same or comparable solutions that normally costs hundreds if not thousands to implement and deploy. Case in point, the Open Source version of SugarCRM, which is a Customer Relationship Management tool can be had for free while one of its proprietary and commercial competitors Salesforce.com cost about $1,000 to start per year for a five user license. Another quick example has Ubuntu, which is a full-featured Linux based operating system against Microsoft XP. XP Professional edition costs $299.99, while Ubuntu costs nothing and comes freely loaded with Office utilities that rival Microsofts Office software suite. You do the math. Remember to include per user and or per pc price and upgrades. Yeah, I know, you have been suckered for a long time and we didnt even mention the server operating system and licenses. Ask yourself, why am I paying for something when I can get it done for little or no cost?

Using Open Source is like using guerrilla tactics for your small business IT needs. Does free mean cheap? Lets take a look. Open Source software affords the user to have software developed by hundreds of developers instead of just a few. Most of the Open Source solutions mentioned here are tried and tested solutions. Did you know that you already use Open Source? Yep, in fact if you use a web browser or use email your using opens source software. The Internet is built upon open standards and runs on Open Source software. Who currently uses Open Source software? IBM, HP, Oracle, whole governments, Google, Yahoo and Amazon just to name a few.

So you might be asking yourself, what exactly is Open Source? Open Source software in its simplest form is software that freely distributes the source code along with the object code (the actual program that you install and use), so that any programmer familiar with the language can tweak, improve, modify or customize it without needing to ask anyone for permission or wait for a vendor to do it for them. For a more verbose definition, please visit http://www.opensource.org. The bottom line is, this model of software distribution can give you a freedom and a savings that compels you to at least become a bit more knowledgeable to its uses.

Running Antispyware

While there is nothing complicated about installing antispyware programs, you must be alert to download its latest version including the most recent spyware detection signature files. Read the end user license agreement to know exactly what you are going to download.

Getting Antispyware packages installed in your system is easy enough, but you must be alert to download its latest version including the most recent spyware detection signature files.

Your number one concern while installing antispyware removal tools should be to read the end user license agreement to know exactly what you are agreeing to download. That done let's look at how to go about getting your antispyware and adware removal package to work.

Getting Started With Antispyware Software

There is nothing complicated about installing your antispyware programs. But what you need to remember is that the latest spyware detection signature files won't download automatically until you tell them to. So ensure that it is updated and also choose the option of automatic updates if available.

If your antispyware removal tool offers real-time protection and blocking of spyware, use it. There is always the chance, though, that the spyware might get into your system before it is detected. Start with the default settings, explore, and experiment with them. Make it a habit to run full scans on a regular basis. Schedule your antispyware software to remove Trojans say, once a week or every time you startup your system.

The next step is to make sense of your scan results. Antispyware software removal tools recognize spyware and their locations in processes in your system, tracking cookies, registry entries and shortcuts on your desktop or start menu. When there are running processes, it could imply active spyware in your memory. If you see registry entries and files, it is likely that spyware may have been lodged in your hard drive. Go through the details and analyze them. Tracking cookies can be harmless, but if tied to an IP, they can turn into spies that track your browsing habits, invading your privacy.

Taking Action On The Results

Some spyware or adware may be an integral part of some programs, games or utilities, which may not function if you remove the spyware and adware. If it is okay with you to keep this spyware and adware, and you feel that they are not threatening, retain them. Once the relevant spyware is removed run the scan again. In spite of all the precaution, you might still find traces of the spyware. Or you might find that it has reinstalled itself back into you computer. So reboot your machine and scan again. If you still find antispyware products, run the scan again with an alternate antispyware removal tool.

Regarding the alerts that come up during the real time protection, look for alerts that announce the presence of spyware, understand the implications and get rid of it.

Spyware - The PC Pest

Spyware is any software that steals information from your PC without your authorization and knowledge. Spyware slows down your pc, using up system resources, CPU time, memory space, disk space and your Internet bandwidth. That is why it is a fast-spreading pest and is also called adware, malware, eulaware, or even crapware.

Spyware and adware attack every PC at one time or other and no PC can do without antispyware software, which removes spyware. Here is a quick look at what spyware is all about and how it affects your computer.

What is spyware? We can define spyware as any software that steals information from your PC without your authorization and knowledge. Spyware is a fast-spreading pest and also called adware, malware, eulaware, or even crapware. Unless detected and killed by antispyware removal tools, Spyware is very sneaky in the way it operates. This is how most of it operates:

How Spyware Operates:

Spyware's most common way of attacking is similar to a virus or a Trojan. You'll see various popup windows that offer to synchronize your pc's clock or help you with form filling. But that's not all there are a lot of things it does without telling you. These trojans can hijack your home page and add new pages to your favorites folder, quietly siphoning off your browsing information. Spyware and adware stealthily track all the websites you visit and faithfully report them back to the spyware vendor. Sometimes, though you have a popup blocker, you still keep getting pop ups! These are from spyware on your computer.

Another deadly thing that spyware does is substitute its own ads on a website, killing that website's earnings in the process. We often experience broken web sites. Spyware is capable of reworking the content on the site, resulting in broken pages or JavaScript errors.

Spyware Reduces Performance

Not surprisingly, Spyware slows down your pc, using up system resources, CPU time, memory space, disk space and your Internet bandwidth. The natural consequences of this are system instability and security risks. The next thing you know is that your system just crashes, hangs or behaves strangely, messing up your work schedule. Invariably spyware testing and debugging are rudimentary, so you can't even report them or get support. Some kinds of spyware can even download and install codes in your system and you won't know about it.

The Role Of Antivirus As An Antispyware Removal Tool

If you have wondered why antivirus programs won't remove or block spyware, it is simply because spyware is not a virus. Spyware relies on the fact that every time we install new software we click on I Agree to the licenses without reading them. So we voluntarily open the gates to spyware. It looks like we agreed to have the spyware on our system, which makes it tough for antivirus companies to flag these tricky spyware. The only way to remove spyware is with anti spyware removal tools, manually or automatically, through a tested antispyware software program sold by a reputed company.
